After the two-year break, a famous festival took place in one of Europe's biggest tech cities - Berlin. The venue that hosted the event was Berlin’s state-of-the-art convention center in Westend/Charlottenburg district. For two days Berlin became the global tech ground where influential experts shared their experiences and stories with the community. It also was a common ground for worldwide developers to connect, collaborate and exchange ideas.

Cube offered a wide range of programs set on multiple stages extended over three floors/levels. The first floor had organized multiple stages and micro stages accompanied by an Expo area. It was packed with content and learning opportunities. The main stage hosted some of the notable world-known speakers and it was placed in an amazing hall that gave a breathtaking view and experience. GitHub CEO, Thomas Dhomke shared his view on the topic “Era of the AI and cloud-based software development”, founder of Stack Overflow, Joel Spolsky talked about problems concerning WWW, and father of the FPS genre John Romero reminisced about his time during the development of Wolfenstein and inventor of C++ Bjarne Stroustrup presented the design and evolution of C++ programming language.

Hubilo app made it easy to follow the schedule and even had the option to create your roadmap for topics of your choice. It made it easy to stay up to date and to filter topics suited for your role or by just following speakers and stages. The application also made it possible to follow some of the presentations online for remote attendees. After the congress, all of the main stage topic materials were available to watch for anybody that couldn't attend the congress in person.

What do we think about the conference?

We had a blast!!

It was awesome to have the opportunity to speak with somebody from San Francisco, New Delhi, Oslo, or Kairo and talk about tech stacks, experiences, and tools, to be able to discuss the ups and downs of our IT paths and listen to the renowned leaders of the industry. Rushing from stage to stage to catch up on our created schedules. Grabbing coffee and a goodie bag in between the lectures. Taking notes and chatting about crazy ideas on our way back to the hostel.

Walking the streets of Berlin and absorbing the architecture and local zeitgeist, occasionally getting lost in public transportation, trying out delicious cuisine, and imagining how it all looks through the eyes of a Berliner.
Hope to come back next year for even more unforgettable experiences and to expand our tech and non-tech horizons.

The tech meeting lasted 2 days and had twelve stages with over 300 speakers. City Cube Berlin, the multifunctional congress and exhibition arena was a host for more than 4000 companies and was visited by over 10000 developers.

For a brief, and bit cold summer moment of 48h “We Are Developers World Congress 2022” created a compelling and thrilling experience and something to remember and return to.
